JLab Epic Air Sport ANC 2nd Gen Review: My Go-To Earbuds for Workouts and Daily Life

JLab Epic Air Sport ANC 2nd Gen Review: My Go-To Earbuds for Workouts and Daily Life

I bought the JLab Epic Air Sport ANC (2nd Gen) on Amazon looking for comfortable, secure true wireless earbuds for workouts. What I didn’t expect was how much they would improve my everyday routine, from cooking to yard work to long walks.

The Small Upgrade That Made My Everyday Life Feel Better

It’s early evening. The kitchen is warm. Something is simmering on the stove. I’m chopping vegetables, half-listening to a podcast, half-thinking about the day.

In my ears: the JLab Epic Air Sport ANC (2nd Gen).

They’ve become part of my life, not as a gadget, but as a seamless upgrade to ordinary moments.

Why I Reach for Them Daily

I use them for:

  • Cooking

  • Cleaning

  • Yard work

  • Walking

  • NordicTrack workouts

  • Rollerblading

  • Grocery runs

  • Travel

They’re ideal fitness earbuds, but even more than that, they’ve become part of how I move through the day.

Fit, Comfort & Sound

This is their biggest strength.

They’re secure enough for movement but comfortable enough to forget. No constant adjusting. No ear fatigue. They stay in place and gently hug your ears, to the point where you could almost forget you’re wearing them.

That is, until the sound kicks in.

The audio is crisp and clear without being harsh, whether I’m listening to music or a podcast. The active noise cancelling softens the background hum of a treadmill, a busy store, or the clatter of dishes, not in a dramatic, isolating way, but enough to create a small pocket of focus.

If you're looking for comfortable wireless earbuds with active noise cancelling for workouts or daily routines, these strike a nice balance between immersion and awareness.

Connectivity & Pairing

Some reviewers mention Bluetooth pairing issues, but that hasn’t been my experience. Mine connected quickly and reliably with my Android phone, Windows PC, and even Alexa devices. I haven’t had random dropouts or reconnection problems.

For everyday use, they’ve been dependable.

Battery Life & Charging Case

Battery life is excellent for daily use.

The real standout, though, is the charging case with a built-in cable. It removes friction, especially when traveling. The case is compact and fits easily in a pocketbook or backpack, and the built-in power cable makes it a true grab-and-go option.

One less thing to pack. One less thing to manage.

Drawbacks

If you’re listening to a podcast or audiobook, you can fast-forward easily, but there’s no way to rewind directly from the earbuds themselves, a small frustration when you miss a detail.

The active noise cancelling is helpful, but it’s not elite-level. It will soften background noise on a plane or busy street, but it won’t block everything out completely. It creates a pocket of focus, not total silence.

Are They Worth It?

If you want:

  • Comfortable true wireless earbuds

  • A secure fit for movement

  • Strong battery life

  • A practical, well-designed charging case

Yes.

If I lost them tomorrow, I would reorder immediately (check current pricing here).
